If you want to rockhound our claims on your own time frame and also have access to our detailed rockhounding location pages, you should consider joining our Club. Club members also get access to our cabochon machines and trim saws. You can join the Club online at https://idahorocksngems.com/join_club/
You can also come into the Rock Shop and join… 608 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706. Memberships start at $30 Family or $20 Individual for a year. Remember to stop by the shop and get your free Rock Club membership decal to display inside a vehicle window location of your choice. This will help identify you to others at the claim sites. You can also get a decal at the online store under accessories on this website and it will be mailed to you.
General Rock Trip Rules:
1. On Club claims, if you are digging new holes, always backfill. If digging in existing holes, backfilling is not required.
The Club schedules reclamations on the claims as needed in the fall.
2. If you are digging on a public site (BLM or USFS) not claimed, always backfill holes.
3. Single rockhounding trip members are allowed 15 lbs per day per claim. Families are allowed 30 lbs per day per site.
4. No commercial digging is allowed. Selling cabs or items you make with your finds is permitted.
5. All claims are open to hounding any time if you are a paid member of the Rock Club
EXCEPT Silver City which may only be accessed during a scheduled rockhounding trip.
Scheduled Rockhounding Trip Rules:
1. Everybody must check in with the assigned Rockhounding Master at the meet up point at the appointed time.
2. The Rockhounding Master will go over the safety considerations, parking, and rockhounding rules for the day.
3. Nobody is to leave early without the Rockhounding Masters permission
4. All must follow the Rockhounding Master to the Rockhounding location.
Breaking Rock Trip rules can and will get participants banned from future trips.
