Surprise Rockhounding Location!

We will meet at the Homedale City Park at 10:30am, Sunday, March 16th.   This will be a Blue Opal Thunder Egg rockhounding trip.  Bring rock hammers, shovels, buckets, and safety stuff as needed.  Road conditions dictate 4×4’s ONLY.

The limit is 12 vehicles to comply with BLM rules.   If more than 12 vehicles want to sign up, the second group will go down the road aways to minimize impacts per BLM guidelines.  Please signup only in one group so others have a chance.  We will be following all BLM collection rules and all holes must be backfilled.  BLM Rockhounding Brochure

Dog notes:  Dogs are welcome on the digs and most folks let them run free…  If you have smaller dogs , you might want to pen them or leave in the back of the pickup as some of the larger dogs can be playfully aggressive.  Summer will also have snakes out and about.

Weather forecast is currently good…   but as always, if it turns bad or roads are horrendous, the excursion will have to be cancelled or moved to a more suitable location.
